Extraordinary contributions for the support of Italian publishing

Dear Publishers,

As reported on the Italian Publishers Association website, an announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has been published which offers for year 2020 extraordinary contributions for the support of Italian publishing and dissemination of Italian books abroad.

Extraordinary contributions are offered to foreign Publishers who, in the period between June 1st and September 25th, 2020, have entered into a contract for the purchase of rights ,or an option to purchase translation rights, of a work by an Italian author already published in Italian in paper format.

Each contribution from the MAECI may be equal to a maximum amount of 4,000 euros gross of VAT, if due. The determination of the amount of the contribution will take into account the number of pages of the work subject to the assignment of rights.

Publishers or editorial groups with registered offices in Italy, with an ISBN code, constituted by 31 December 2018 and who have published and put on the market during the year 2019 at least 10 titles can apply.

Literary agencies and literary agents operating on behalf of an Italian author whose work has already been published in Italian in paper format may also apply.

The deadline for submitting applications for contributions is the 5th October 2020.
